Iterations of Self

Iterations of Self is rooted in transformation. The internal shifts that surface during periods of upheaval and change. The series emerged in early 2024 in the wake of an unexpected career shift, channeling the disorientation of that period into a sustained self-examination. Hood built a visual language for the experience of becoming someone unfamiliar to yourself. The practice has since evolved into an annual ritual. Each year, two self-portraits. The work is an ongoing reminder of the freedom to think, feel, and present oneself authentically. Even, and especially, in the middle of not knowing.
